Looking for information about using ANSI.SYS in Windows DOS boxes I can only
find the well known advice to insert the device statement in config.sys or
config.nt, but on my VISTA x64 Ultimate I can't find any ANSI.SYS file.

All what I want to do is to make the output of my system of .bat-files more
readable by using different colors, just as I could do it in good old DOS
times. But how can I do that without ANSI.SYS?

Supposedly Vista has ANSI included but I can't find it on my system
either. It may be one of those optional installs on the DVD but
neither could I find it there.

You can try AnsiCon

I have no familiarity with the program but it is designed as a
replacement for ANSI on Win7/Vista machines...
