First off i'll start by saying how much fun i'm having reading "OS
Design & Implementation - 3rd Edition", the author(s) writing style is
so easy to understand, and the Minix source itself is a pleasure to
browse (very rare in todays OS world, even ones for /learning/).

With that said, i'm very interested in not only learning the
fundamentals of OS design & development, but also to hopefully
contribute something back. Enter my question. I noticed on the Minix
site, it said, "A port of the current version of Python" is being worked
on. That was back in Oct. 2005, i /believe/ that should be the 2.x
series. If so, i'm wondering if there's a development page for it, as a
lot of things i'd like to write i'd use Python 2.x. Any information on
its status, if it's still being worked on at all, would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks to all who've contributed for taking the time to write Minix, and
a great book to compliment it, so folks like myself can learn from it.

The reference was to the version that is on the distribution now. I
don't know of anyone porting a more recent version, but that would be a
very valuable thing to have.
