Subject: building info-zip's unzip

Hi all,

Last night I tried to build Info-ZIP's unzip (v5.32) utility, and failed
miserably.

I tried "$ make -f unix/Makefile minix" and "$ make -f unix/Makefile generic"
and just got all kinds of warnings and errors.  Finally I edited the
Makefile's minix entry to add the following "-wa -DDECLARE_TIMEZONE -DNO_DIR",
do a "# touch /usr/include/sys/param.h" and define a value for S_IEXEC, which
resulted in a clean compilation, but failed at link (due to unresolved
symbols).

So, we have two problems: 1.) what do we have to do to build unzip
successfully under minix 2.0.0 i386, and 2.) how do we communicate that
improved method to the Info-ZIP folks?

Thanks,
-Steve Harris

I believe you can download it from minix1.hampshire.edu or
www.intersolar.com.ar/minix
If you have problems, I have  zip/unzip sources and binary working under
Minix 386,
and I can upload them.

Regards,
Claudio Tantignone.
