Wifi install possible with PowerbookG3 wallstreet ?

Hi, I have done several wifi installing of Debian on some other
powerbooks, with the same wifi cards which work, but the Wallstreet is
hanging.

I wonder if anyone has tried this or had any related difficulties.

I have send mail to debian-powerpc list but am sending here too to
possibly hear about other distros. Convenience of debian is small
netinstall download, other distros seem to require download a whole cd
(time consuming especially at the local hot spot).

Still I did have thoughts of trying Suse or Ubuntu.
