i have the following problem and it drives me nuts. I want to use the
Neomagic 256
Soundcard with my Acer Notebook. That's works fine with the Kernel
2.2.13
as the driver is coming with the Kernel. After i start pcmcia service
that it was.
If pcmcia is started there is no sound at all. The sound driver crash
after pcmcia
service ist started. At this time it dosent matter if a card is insert
or not.
If there someone who can help?
Here some system data.
Acer Travelmate 721TX w. 128M Ram
Suse Linux 6.2
Kernel 2.2.13
Thank's
Hans
Hi,
try www.uglx.org
this is the site of the author of the driver. Check the link to sony
Vayo's driver and get the patch 1.11 there. It fixes some bugs in the
2.2.13 driver.
I don't know if it works, but it might!
Peter
the soundcard and pcmcia may be attempting to use the same irq? edit
/etc/pcmcia/config.opts to exclude/include an irq for your pcmcia card...

I have the little brother of yours - 512T - and everything is just fine.
I'm using the ALSA-Driver but yout problem might just be an IRQ-conflict. If you only have one PCMCIA-Device you only need to assign one IRQ to the PCMCIA-port (or a maximum of two).
