I know you can install snort on laptop, but what if i take the laptop to different networks (ect. mcdonalds hotspot) in the setup of snort it ask for an ip for example 192.168.1.2/32. If my laptop looks for a dhcp address how would i set this up or what would i look for when searching the web

running Ubuntu 12.04
