That's not the issue. Yes, it's a pre-dual intel whatever w/ .5G ram. It
excceds ubuntu's requirements!!!!!!! Bottom line, other distros work jes
fine. Why does anyone have to "know" the specs? Works with everything
else. Why not ubuntu? Even ubuntu's CD check ok'd the CD. Still won't
boot.
Sure, ppl would like to fault me or my h/w, but what can I tell them.

That sounds like one of the ancient laptops I used to run my
"main desktop" on and another that I use as a "nettop". "Sony Vaio"
could quite literally mean anything. That "description" isn't even
going to nail down the identity of the CPU.
