A few months ago someone noted he could get the RedHat distribution
more cheaply from a reseller than from RedHat itself. One of the RH
employees agreed, and said RH actually preferred to work through
resellers (this is from memory, and if I am in error I sincerely
apologize). I've been trying to track down such middlemen with a
little success. Have any of you had exceptionally good or bad
experiences you'd be willing to share? Thank you for your patience.

I think my user group did a gorup purchase at $7 per CD, I haven't looked
at it's contents yet, since I'm video card-less (waiting for Matrox
Millenium with 4 mb WRAM! :)). I don't think this was through any
middleman, though.

You can try CheapBytes; they sell the Official Red Hat 3.0.3 for
$36.00. The URL is http://www.cheapbytes.com.

But this (most probably) does not include Red Hat's "Live CD"... I think
this is why it cheaper. I paid about $50 for BOTH cd's and the manual, at
Red Hat's main office (a 7 minute drive from Cisco Systems in Research
Triange Park, NC !!).
