clock problem follow up

Remember my clock problem on a tbird900 first posted 2009-11-09 ?
Well the latest developments on that subject are that some time after
the clock problem arose, my mother reported there was a knock sometimes.

It told to me that the HD controler was getting mad.

Then 2-3 days later, she told me that the 'putor was shutting down and
restarting by istself.

Then I tought the PS was getting too weak and tripped. But what about
the restart ...?

Then the day after she told me that the machine was reporting something
about grub at startup.

I had the machine brought to my place. Tried the HD in another machine,
works great. Tried one of my HD in hers ... grub ...

The controler on the board is dead. Sure there are other problems on it
that caused the malfunction of the clock.

So I ordered a farewell ceremony for my old tbird and buried it ... in
the trash can. ;-)

Replaced the whole thing with a much powerfull machine.

So it looks like AZ Nomad was right.
