I think what is slowing down data transfer is the hdds. This is their transfer
speed:

I could either use SSDs or a RAID configuration to optimize trasfer speed
but I have no experience doing this and I am not sure I would get a substantial
speed gain

What could I best exploit the box I got to make it faster?
