I'm trying to measure the bandwidth of an external USB3 hard drive. I've
tried both fio and my own program sys_basher but in both cases I'm getting
impossibly high numbers, up to 3GB/sec for Direct Reads with and without
Sync. If I run the same tests on an internal drive I get reasonable
numbers, 230MB/sec Read Direct on a RAID0. Clearly file caching is always
on for a USB device, is there anyway to turn it off?
