mount: can't find /media/cdrom in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
On my Fedora 8 x86_84 system, /media/cdrom has disappeared. I suspect this is the result of a yum update, but I need help diagnosing the problem. 1. How to use BadRAM?
I need/want to use the BadRAM kernel patch. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any HOWTO for it. The author mentions a modification for memtest86+ that would tell the necessary command line (Patching the kernel and installing the tools wouldn't be an issue) but apparently forgot to link to it. So, how to use that patch?... more »

When I go to partition it with cfdisk, the first think is I'm asked to select "New disk label type" and have the options amiga, bsd, gpt, msdos, etc. I googled to find out which I should use, but no clear answer. I suspect it is gpt, and I suspect it is the default.... more »
