Status of Extended Attributes on Ubuntu 
  Hey! I can't enable extended attributes on Ubuntu. I have tried adding user_xattr as attribute to my /etc/fstab. I have tried both ext2,ext3,ext4,reiserfs but none works for me. Does the Ubuntu Jaunty/Karmic kernel lack support for extended attributes? There is no /proc/config.gz in Ubuntu so I can't check this either.... more »

Convert time string to local time 
  Hi, I'd like to convert a time specification "2008-11-02T15:15:24Z" into local time. The date/time comes from a GPS tracker (GPX format). Does anyone know a function which can do that, taking timezones etc into account? TIA, Josef
