There is another hearing scheduled for tomorrow, January 14, 2000, in
California Superior Court regarding the preliminary injunction that the
DVD Industry is attempting to place on all sites that have the download
to DeCSS. Any injunction would be a tremendous blow to Linux as DeCSS
is being developed as the video playback utility for Linux. We have
just added a lot of information regarding this matter onto our site and
also plan on providing updated information throughout the day tomorrow
regarding the court hearing. The entire Linux and Open Source
community needs all the support on this matter as possible as this is a
matter of critical importance.
