In fifteen years plus of posting to Usenet I have never seen anyone so
fucked in the head and obsessed as Steve Carroll. Did his wife cheat on him

Well, I never asked to be in his sick little love triangle, but years ago
(2004, the year he still lives in) he was cheating on his girlfriend with a
woman he bragged, publicly, that he could take 69 mile road trips to any
time he wanted. His girlfriend, who he sometimes called his wife though he
admitted he was not married, was - apparently - often out of the house... as
an airline stewardess or something.
This woman he was cheating with ended up obsessing over me... going so far
as to, when she found out my wife was pregnant, having a fit that I did not
include her in my family planning decisions. She also repeated things about
me from my work web site, tracked down the names of my neighbors, and even
repeated things said only in the *print* edition of my local paper.
When I showed no returned interest in her she threatened to call my local
police and make false reports about me (of course, admitting to that
publicly was stupid... and I showed the posts to my local police). She
ended up being asked to not post to CSMA for six months (or a year...
whatever). She complied and then posted a couple times... I did not
respond and she left.
Steve has not been able to let go of this... he is *still* freaking out. In
the meantime he claims he actually went and married his girlfriend. If he
did, I seriously feel very, very sorry for his wife.

I have no desire to take things out of Usenet. Steve, though, is so scared
that I might contact her he deluded himself into thinking I had... or at
least publically accused me of doing so.
The problem with living as Steve does is he is in constant fear his wife, if
she exists, will find out about his past. There is no doubt he would not be
