I installed Fedora 11 on my wifes PC the other day, a HP 530 Celeron
(2.5Ghz) with 1Gb ram.

Total install space used including the apps she uses, was 5.8G.

Using the 'live cd', the install was very smooth, with only two user
interventions required for stage one:-
1) Time and date set by clicking on our location on a map of the world
2) Root password entry

Once stage one is complete the machine reboots and asks for the name of the
user. I think this facility will make it very easy for a OEM, or Ma & Pa
shop to clone Fedora 11 PCs, because all they have to do is install one
stage 1 and clone the hard disks.

When the buyer turns on their new Fedora 11 PC, they will then add their
username, and the installation is then complete, tailored for the user.

No drivers were needed, the only hassle encountered was the on board Intel
video was a bit slow for her favorite game Majhong, which runs under Flash
10, so I installed an old Rage 128 low profile video card I had, which
improved the game speed quite a bit.

This is a old machine, no speed demon, yet it's snappy and beautiful under
Fedora 11, and she's very happy with it.

Another winning Linux distro!

* No 64 letter license key
* No product *activation*
* Total cost is a download
* Comes with Firefox 3.5, which is working perfectly
* All susbsytems were detected, audio, video, everything works perfectly
* Gnome desktop
* Tight security with default Selinux, which emails a security log every day
to root.

Windows users, why settle for less, UPGRADE to Fedora 11 today.
