"Even with the pre-Christmas buying rush, Microsoft is already
desperately offering a new buy one get one free offer similar to the
ones they gave for the KIN. According to the article, 'Windows Phone 7
devices can't even manage two per cent of the fortnight's sales.'
These aren't official Microsoft figures; they come from online
shopping sites. But since Microsoft official sales figures seem
subject to manipulation, this is perhaps one of the better guesses we
will get at the success of Windows Phone 7 until well into next
year. This also strongly backs up other reports of deeply
disappointing phone sales. Even Microsoft supporters have been
wondering for a while whether it's time for Ballmer to go. If the
sales reports are true, then he may be pushed before he jumps."

Ballmer needs to go. Products such as the Kin aside I think he portrays
a rather poor image of the company.

I predict mid 2011 for him to leave. I don't think he'll go now as it
would loose what little confidence exists in the new products such as WP7.

WP7 will fail in my opinion. I said it about the Kin many months before
it was even released (and so did many others) Even if you forget about
the features its lacking which Microsoft claims people don't want, its
too little too late.

Kinect cannot be hailed a success because at the end of the day its
merely a console controller sold to an already existing customer base.

I think if Microsoft dropped its Ballmer image it might start getting
somewhere since in terms of perception at the home user end, Microsoft
in my view has become incredibly "unfashionable" and the subject of
ridicule. Whilst "unfashionable" might not seem important for a piece
of tech or software, you have to remember "fashion" is what sold so many
Apple products (IMO) and what continues driving sales. How many people
want a Microsoft device sticking out of their back pocket? and how many
people think highly of Microsoft?

Kind regards

Who are you to tell him, you crazy loon.
He managed Microsoft though a huge financial crisis and the company is
making profit and doing well.
If he hadn't done that, he would have been replaced, long ago.
What is it with you freetards that you have no clue about how to run
commercial companies?

Thats rather rude considering I am putting my opinion and since you
can't discuss without resorting to insults in the first sentence, I'd
suggest the title of loon is more in your court. - I'll let others
decide though.

Secondly, "Freetard"? Er no. I use and support proprietary products too.

Finally....

"I'm having fun and I'm laughing at you on Roy's IRC channel"

Well since Ive been away for the last couple of days, Im not sure who
you were laughing at, however maybe its a testament to your cowardice
that you don't announce yourself. If you don't agree, discuss like an
adult. Or can't you?
