Oh... since like 1983 or so I think... as I understand it... XENIX
was originally developed by Microsoft from UNIX V7 sources (I remember
using V6 and V7 on PDP's, and I have some old NCR Towers that run a
V7 variant), and when they sold it to SCO, they got some SCO stock in
the exchange. I am pretty sure that M$ only owns part of SCO... but
they do continue to hold an interest in it to this day...

This is perfectly true, but saying that SCO is owned by MS is as true as
saying that MS is owned by Bill Gates.
Largely true, but I think that it was System III...
Actually I am pretty sure it was V7... System III was more or less a
commercialized V7, however...
