I got a laugh out of it as well. Sadly for him his posts are archived
elsewhere. :-)

Yes, a few other archives ignore the "X-No-Archive" header, that's why
it's a waste of time!

It's not just the archives, BD. A more worrisome fact is that they slowly
convert UseNet into 'Google Chat'. That is most definitely the bigger issue.
Do not expect quotes and attributions when Google takes over the world,
communication included.

Best wishes,

Roy

It's also a waste of time, because anyone replying to them still records
their post. IMO we aren't the ones bothered about XNA, but they are or why
else would they use it?

Two reasons. One is that an archive ignoring it is the exception, not the
rule, meaning an XNA post may well slip through all the usual haunts,
unrecorded.

Second, though, is probably more important: if you have to set XNA,
doesn't this tend to indicate you're trying to hide something, that, say,
you want to be able to spew a mess of complete and utter tripe whilst
being able to deny it later, because it's not archived, for example?

If you don't want your posts recorded... don't post.

That was always the flatfish retort when people mentioned things from
his/hers previous posts. Prove it he would say.

> If you don't want your posts recorded... don't post.

This BD character has always posted with XNA I think. Why it seems
important to him I've no idea.
