Name for encumbered Linuxes?

Just a thought.
There ought to be a generic name for encumbered Linuxes
like Novel's linux, linspire, turbolinux, xandross and anyone
else thinking of doing what those guys have done by selling out to patent
troll inclined companies.

What about

Cucumber Linux
Cucumbered Linux (just two letters changed from encumbered Linux)
Cucumbered Linux :-)

That is a brilliant idea. It would make a consistent terminology.

I tried this before, but people take offence in that. When words
like 'infected' or 'tainted' are used, I've faced comparisons to Nazi
propaganda from a pro-Novell zealot (others attacked him for suggesting this).

A kernel that is made to link with a non-GPLed module describes itself
in the system log as "tainted". Seems to be a good analogy with an
encumbered distribution.

Shouldn't that be, "Tainted GNU/Linux"? :)

I thought that before posting. Since they hardly care about the GPL (they
violate it by spirit), why GNU? Why even Linux? One company just called it
Lindows.

If I say 'tainted', Novell employees call me a zealot.

When I link to this (I tried), people think I'm nuts. No picture of Andy yet?

Monkeys love Banana (republic) Linux. It's like Cucumber Linux, but with a

I think that Tainted Linux is a pretty good moniker. Cucumber is just
not comprehensible, and there's no intention here of wanting to make it
seem good, is there?

Who cares what a pro-Noveller thinks of the label? How many real
backers (versus additional socks) does he really have? Billy, Blammer,
a few freaks like DuFus and analus headupus, maybe a Timmy or two, and
certainly an Ewik.

If Novell and s/h/it's monions wanted to remain on good terms with
linux users, they should've steered clear of selling their whorish
bodies to M$.

Here we have it folks.

Roy Schestowitz wants to REPEL people from using Linux.

Conclusive proof that he's in it only for himself. The advancement of
OSS into the world is of no real consequence to him. It's all about
Roy. No wonder those OSS developers and leaders on the webcast thought

My. How the cold winter nights simply fly by.

And yet, someone Diggs Roy down and he squeals like a stuck pig and
threatens people with the Police!

Yes, I saw that. I've put that in 3 or 4 separate Web sites so far. The Google
spider will pick them up as time goes by and tell you that ballox (sic) is
balls, which it ain't. As time goes by and saturation for the query goes,
maybe Google will correct the proposal to something like "SUSE", "extortion",
or "cancer".
