Please see:

http://catless.ncl.ac.uk/Risks/17.13.html

wherein is discussed the fact that Win95 is willing to automatically
run programs on CDs when they are inserted. Remember the Mac "on
insertion" virii, and the fact that several venders have accidentally
released a virus with their products?

Also, in:

http://catless.ncl.ac.uk/Risks/17.21.html

there is more information on the "Wizard virus."

It gets better...

You can embed links to executable binary files in your e-mail. (Maybe even in
their Web browser--I don't know). The embedded link looks like an icon. If
you double-clidk the icon, the binary gets downloaded AND RUN! This is, to
put it mildly, a security hole you could drive a jumbo jet through.

How about a Linux icon...

Sounds like I could put most of the known universe through that
one. In fact, it sounds like your average 16 year old could
put most of the known universe through that one...

catch on.:)
