Obviously a person does not post 10's of thousands of messages out of
the goodness of his own heart.
So who *IS* paying Roy Schestowitz?
Look here for some clues:

Check digg and Netscape for Schestowitz crap.
Also boycott novell which is another pet site of his.
Obviously the professional student is being paid to spam this crap all
over the place.

Look carefully and you can figure it out.
You will also see, if you look closely that Roy Schestowitz and Mark
Kent are sharing a demon.net connection which is a total violation of
the TOS.
We got Roy kicked off the Manchester Universities system, why not get
him kicked off demon.net and Mark Kent as well.
It's simple to prove.
Look at the headers, it's obvious Roy is SSh'ing into Mark's system.
A violation of TOS.

You should change the subject to "Who is Paying Roy Schestowitz To Post
Anti-Microsoft Articles" because I see very few Linux articles posted by
him.
FWIW the guy is a fool, leave him alone because the mentally ill need to
be left alone.
Sooner or later they will find the right combination of medication and
Roy Schestowitz will be normal again.
For now, it's best to ignore his paranoid rantings.

Roy didn't post at all in 1793? Dammit! I PAID FOR THa.... um,
nevermind.

Not if he has Mark permission to use his system. The net is free. As in
speech.

I think he does it with the time he saves not having to fsck around with

I think even the rankest Usenet newbies would see the fellow's email

I don't know...maybe he just likes posting. Makes it convenient for the rest of
us. Hope Roy keeps up the good work. Sure does irritate the trolls.

I think it comes down to two choices -

1) He *IS* being paid. He often accuses others of being paid (by Microsoft
of course) but that's probably a diversionary tactic. It's like all those
'family value' republicans who get busted in the mens room or for groping
male interns. Given how he is always linking to and pimping his personal and
'boycottnovell' web-sites for hits he seems to have no problem with running
paid adds to make a few bucks for himself. So if he is paid and continually
accuses others of being paid that makes him a hypocrite.

2) He is *NOT* being paid and is the biggest loser in the history of
mankind. Someone would have to be one pathetic moron to spend his entire
life, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year posting this nonsense
here for a handful of other COLA nuts to froth over. Just the thousands and
thousands of posts made here is enough to consider Roy Schestowitz to be a
mental patient. Combine these thousands of posts with the thousands of posts
to Digg, his two (known) websites and everything else and psychiatrists
would be drooling to do a case study on this lunatic.

So he's either a total loser in every meaninful sense of the term or he's a
hypocrite. In either case it sure is sad when you see people like this. It's
like the homeless bums you see sleeping in the alleys by Wrigley Field. You
feel sorry for them but you also know there's nothing you can do to help the
mentally ill.

It takes money to do this kind of thng doesn't it? Maybe not much, I
know, but ironic that the anonymous spammer is paying to make these
accusations that Roy is a paid spammer. At least you know where he
gets his ideas from. A better question is, who pays his bills?

I doubt it's very difficult to copy a link, paste it, copy a summary,
paste it, and submit.

I do, however, find it difficult to do this on that basis. The only
sensible explanation would be that he has a mechanism for taking stuff
from RSS feeds and posting it onto the newsgroup quickly whenever he
comes across it.

But his summaries are often inaccurate, and are not taken verbatim from
the article, indicating he is writing them himself.

I do it all manually and it takes quite a while (it also involves looking at
dozens of browser tabs and seeing how articles related to one another). I
dedicate a good number of hours to this task and I do it because it makes me
feel like I help something important. I could be making money out in the
industry, but life is not just about money (especially if there is nothing you
wish to do with that money).

Translation - The Schestowitz troll lives in mommy's basement. Rent is free
and daddy goes to work each day to put food in his mouth while he spouts his
lienux bullshit all day long. What a loser... mom & dad work and he sits in
the basement all day posting instead of getting a job because "money isn't
all that important" to him. Easy to say when someone else is paying the
bills.
