A few days ago, a site reported on an Apple patent application, noticed
that it had a couple drawings that showed some existing applications
from other developers on an iPhone, and proclaimed that Apple was trying
to patent other peoples apps.

There was a brief eruption of outrage on the usual sites, then people
actually read the application, found the initial report was completely
bogus, and the original site posted a followup pretty much admitting the
same thing.

Basically, Apple is trying to patent some technology that would be used
with existing apps. The drawing used some real apps as examples. A good
analogy (that I got from someone else) would be if someone was trying to
patent the first television, and one of the illustrations showing how
the television could be used for watching movies showed someone watching
"Casablanca". That wouldn't mean they were trying to patent
"Casablanca". That's essentially what was being claimed.

Anyway, after things had calmed down, and pretty much every place that
reported the original story had also covered the followups that showed
that it was wrong, and Apple was NOT trying to patent other people's
apps--Roy covers the story. Of course, Roy completely ignores the parts
about the story being bogus, even though it is almost impossible that he
is unaware of them. Nope, he just reports it as Apple trying to patent
other people's apps.

Looks like you are still stalking Linux advocate Roy.
There is nothing for you to live for.

May be you should hand yourself in to the police
and explain your obsessions to them.
