I only listed first-level bulletpoints. The list is very detailed, which
makes a compelling case

Yet another twang of the same old linux mantra. Conveniently glossing
over the cold, hard fact that linux doesn't have the application
support that professionals need on the desktop. Go tell it on the
mountain!

Exactly. This junk is used by .001% or so of the CAD users. Most of the
rest use AutoCAD which isn't available for linux.

You do not understand the professional engineering world.
You conveniently snip away everything, calling it junk.
AutoCAD is only one of 5 major vendors of LCM software, which
consitutes over half. There are many other CAD packages and
not everyone uses Windows.

No one is going to use Windows to drive a million pound
stamping machine, control a million dollar CT scanner with a
live patient, or a multimillion dollar flight controls
system. The stakes are too high and reliability and
liability demand a better system.

You conveniently snip everything, calling it junk. Since you
do not understand the professional engineering world and
since it would be pointless to argue with you, into the bozo
bin you go <PLONK!>.

I don't have much experience with CAD/Engineering apps, but don't several
of them actually use openGL to smoothly display complex structures?
If so, I hope that this faggottry of making openGL in Vista a
compatibility layer for D3D is going to make vendors of said software port
their stuff to other OS' which do have native openGL support.
