Subject: Need 8" disks read
I have come into possession of several original Lobo Max-80 8" boot
disks.  They are both single and double sided and are both CP/M  2.2
and 3.  Does anyone still have access to 8" disks and would be willing
to read them into disk images?  It would not be necessary to send them
back to me.  I'd like to write a Lobo Max-80 emulator (or, perhaps,
add one to Peter Schorn's wonderful emulator that already does several
machines/architectures), but there are no Lobo disk images on the
Internet that I am aware.   Don Maslin offered them in the past.
Hopefully, there is BIOS source code on the disks.  It sure would make
the task easier.  I already have a high quality scanned manual
including the schematic.

Is anyone still with the hardware able to help?   I haven't had an 8"
drive in over 20 years.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

If no one more qualified steps up to bat, I do have 8" drives available.
Just not sure what software I have to do the deed.

Hi Tom,

I can still read 8" disks with some old DOS programs
(22DISK and TELEDISK from SYDEX). Problem is: 1) are
these disks still readable and 2) you have to ship them
to Germany.

Greetings,

Uwe.

I suspect there will be a n mber of people who can still read 8"
disks.  I guess the next thing I would ask for is for whoever
becomes the victim^H^H^H^H^H^Hvolunteer to first just try to
make copies of them.  I would certainly like to have a copy of
the originals, one way or the other just so I can test out some
of my stuff here that I haven't used in a long, long time.
