Thanks for the pdf version of the Coherent manual. I attended a course covering Unix and C at the University of North Florida in the early 90s. The computer lab only had four Unix workstations connected to a Sequent server. Rather than wait for an opening, I ordered Coherent and installed it on a Zeos 386 laptop and did all of my homework on it. It worked perfectly for both the C portion and the unix exercises.

The MWC C compiler was actually very good. It produced fast and small size exec files.

I still have at least one box of the Coherent OS. I believe I purchased three copies. The manuals were exceptional. I still have one on my "working" shelf and refer to it from time to time.

Those were exciting times!

FYI, Bob Swartz has agreed to allow the system and command sources that had been saved by Steve Ness be distributed under the 3 clause BSD license. They are available here: http://www.nesssoftware.com/home/mwc/source.php
