Is Coherent 4.2 shipping now ? Or is it just in beta test ? I've seen a couple of references here to 4.2, and didn't think that it was out yet.
For anyone who has it (beta or otherwise) is there a working driver for the CMS 120 drive ? Any Ethernet networking what-so-ever ?

I talked to MWC about 2 weeks ago, when asking them wher it was since we had joined their Coherent Club, and the response I got was it will be shipping in 2 months.

Not sure about the above, but I was told that it will be able to support X-windows.

The CMS driver is being written and hopefully will be part of the 4.2 release, along with other device driver modifications.

Since COH supports SCSI, does it also support SCSI tape drives. E.g., can I use the DAT drive hooked up to my Mac? or does it need an additional driver despite the fact that it is an SCSI device?

COH's SCSI drivers doesn't support tapes yet, but it's under developement and 4.2 should come with it. -- Udo Munk, Oberstr. 21, 41460 Neuss, Germany u...@umunk.GUN.de CIS: 100021,2515 anon uucp: +49 2131 278869 V22/32/42bis 8N1 login: nuucp pwd: nuucp Shere=ANY request file /usr/spool/uucppublic/info for instructions

4.2 is planned to have SCSI tape support, but the exact details (i.e., which controllers and stuff) haven't been finalized yet. I have seen a SCSI tape backup done successfully, however.
