If an interface returns a pointer (_ptr) to an object that is part of an ORB's implementation, who owns that pointer and is responsible for the deletion of that pointer, e.g. a pointer returned from orb->resolve_initial_reference s()? I'am looking for a (free) ORB with C bindings that works on Microsoft Xp/visual studio plateform. I've find Orbit2 but it doesn't seem to work on windows and the last release is from 2003 ! Does this ORB exist?

It now has Java bindings, is also wrapped to implement JMS and can be used with JBoss to provide a real time SOA environment.
