The US Navy awarded OCI a Phase II SBIR contract to extend its
functionality including modeling and code generation tools.
As part of that activity we established a new OpenDDS baseline with
sufficient new capabilities to justify the Version 2 appellation.
OpenDDS uses ACE as its abstraction layer. It makes great partner with
TAO (RT CORBA) to build a large distributed OO Real time system.

Features added and bugs/fixes in OpenDDS version 2.0:

- This is the first release of OpenDDS that conforms to the minimum
compliance profile as documented in formal/07-01-01 (version 1.2).
Near-complete support for the persistence profile and initial
support
for the content-subscription profile is also provided in this
release.
- Numerous API updates have been introduced for 1.2 compliance.
- A number of QoS policies have been updated or implemented to meet
the minimum compliance profile:

- ENTITY_FACTORY
- LIVELINESS
- PRESENTATION
- READER_DATA_LIFECYCLE
