The last few months OCI has been expanding the capabilities of open
source C++ product OpenDDS. It now has Java bindings, is also wrapped
to implement JMS and can be used with JBoss to provide a real time SOA
environment.

The US Navy awarded OCI a Phase II SBIR contract to extend its
functionality including modeling and code generation tools.

As part of that activity we established a new OpenDDS baseline with
sufficient new capabilities to justify the Version 2 appellation.

OpenDDS uses ACE as its abstraction layer. It makes great partner with
TAO (RT CORBA) to build a large distributed OO Real time system.

Here is the announcement:

OpenDDS version 2.0 is now available for download. Please see
http://download.ociweb.com/OpenDDS for the download.

An updated version of the OpenDDS Developer's Guide is available from
the same site in PDF format.
