Hello I have an acer travelmate 541 which is giving me modem problems. It has an internal modem which stopped working (error says 'modem not responding, are you sure it is connected/switched on'). Hello, Is this possible to use modem as sound card in such configuration: Telephone-----[modem]---[PC] and to send voice from telephone and to telephone through modem instead of sound card? How can I do it? Best regards brothaluca

Thought this might help a few struggling souls out there: I am running W2K through a Speedtouch 570 wireless ADSL modem and just got it working with Contivity VPN client. When first set up on ADSL with Bigpond support you cannot get a VPN connection, and the support "tech's" will not give any info on VPN.... more »

busy modem

when I'm logged on, my modem is busy sending and receiving even when "nothing" is happening. it sends about 1500 bytes per second pretty continuously and receives about half that rate. what is going on? I'm running XP Pro. Thanks, Ron
