I have an iPad2 and I want to synch it's Contacts with my Outlook contacts
OR just ignore the existing Contacts thingy as it seems a bit basic and use
something better instead that will synch with my Outlook contacts..

Am I baffled? You betcha.

I'm presuming there's an app that'll expedite the process, so can some kind
person recommend one please?

TIA.

Syncing contacts is set in itunes. Once set up you can sync via wifi
from then on. What I have noticed is that you will have to edit the
contacts on the ipad after the first sync. For some reason, when
outlook has a contact with email, phone and other data I end up with
multiple entries on my iphone and ipads. I still can't figure that
one out. But editing is pretty simple and only took an hour or so to
go through about 350 contacts. I have all my email accounts synced,
yahoo, gmail, outlook, facebook, etc.

As far as other apps go, just do a search in the app store for
"contact manager" or "address book" and you will find a lot of
options. Far too many, with many differing features, so you will have
to go through it yourself to find what best suites you.

select in iTunes "Info" page at bottom "Replace contacts..." or look at
App "Contacts Duster"

Thank you, both of you.

I did look through the Contacts and Address Book apps but couldn't see one
that obviously stood out as being better.

Thank you for previous help with this, on synching my iPad 2 Contacts with
Outlook.

Unfortunately, I don't seem to be much further forward.

On opening iTunes on my PC, the available categories in my Library are
Music, Films, Podcasts, Books, Radio.

I have found why I just see those categories (General Preferences) but can
find no way to include Address Book/Contacts or similar into that list of
choices, through ANY of the various menu options.

And can't see any other option that looks likely to import it.

Am I overlooking something obvious, or does iTunes see an address book as,
say, a Book?

No....

Connect your iPad to the computer.
Click *Brian's iPad <whatever> in the left column.
Click *Info* under the Synch bar at the top.

iTunes was designed by a sadist!

Eee, you're not wrong there!

I was assuming a wireless connection would be the first-choice option.

Right, cable it is.

Thank you!
