Check mail before sending?

Hello,
I'm on a shared server with no direct access to sendmail. I'm
trying to relay from outside the network, with no luck. During a
relay scan I noticed all of the relays came back as closed, except for
one. I came back with an error message saying "check mail before
sending".

Is this some type of popb4smtp authorization?

How can I, as a shared user, check the configuration of sendmail so I
can fully utilize all of the functions provided to me by my hosting
company.

(p.s.) I did call them directly, however, they didn't seem to have any
technical knowledge regarding sendmail or smtp.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated,

It certainly sounds like it, yes.

Without access to the machine, you basicly can't check the configuration
beyond the remote testing you've already done. Perhaps you might find it
useful to try doing a fetchmail to authorize against this server and then see
whether you can use it to relay mail.

Hmm. Well, if you're not happy with the level of technical support you're
getting, take your business elsewhere.

Thanks Chuck,

I'll give the "fetchmail" command a try this weekend. It's
worth a shot. I did create several test accounts and I may have
neglected to remove all the leftover files. If I did leave mail in
one of these accounts it would prevent me from performing a "send on
check". It's definitely worth looking into.
A may be a novice but I'm persistant. :)
