Description: The PINE mail user agent.

exchange support, any chance?

I tried using mutt and other similarly interesting news readers, but none of them was a good enough replacement for the great curses interface of pine. Now that Microsoft opened their protocol specs, it would be handy to see support for this... more »

Alpine
I tried using pine, but it didn't work on my mac. I found out about its successor, Alpine, but when I tried to download it from the Apple website, it wasn't there -- some kind of 404 error or something. I've been to the UW site to try to download the latest version, but I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone help me out? How do I download and... more »

Pine won't open inbox/download messages from gmail -- what am I doing wrong?
I'm learning a little about pine after downloading it. I can't seem to get it to work, though. It can't open the inbox -- it sits there (as the little slash mark rotates) but after a while it stops and can't make the connection, with a message saying that "connection to gmail.pop....(something) failed, operation timed out.) It also tried... more »

IMAP offline
I would very much like to use alpine on more than one computer to access my mail, but I need to be able to work on it when offline as well. Thunderbird now has a wonderful ability to use IMAP with a fully- synced copy of mail on the local machine as an option -- ie one can access full versions of all one's email while offline.... more »
