I am trying to use Alpine with Citadel IMAP.

The problem is that Citadel has an auto expunge feature which appears to screw up Alpine. When I delete a message in my IMAP inbox, the cursor jumps over the next message to the following one, which means I have to hit the up arrow to go back. Anyone else had this problem or solved it?

Thanks.

Roger,

Since Citadel is at fault here, there is no much you can do. What I
would do is to patch Alpine so that the "D" key does the "go back one
message after deletion". I have a patch that can help you with that it
is called "Define your own rules and make Alpine flexible!". The link
below takes you to the patch, it can be configured so that this
redefinition work in any specific folder. I can not think of a way to
do this without patching.
