I've just had no end of trouble just trying to change the log-in
password on my IMAP account with pc-alpine. Whatever I tried I was
unable to get a prompt for a new password. The pine.pwd file in my
home folder was missing too. Even clearing the registry and
deleting/moving the .pinerc file seemed to hit the same problem, as
if pc-alpine was trying to use the old password, not connecting and
then just sitting there looking smug!
In the end I had to uninstall pc-alpine and re-install. That bought
up the initial windows asking for connection details and I could
enter the new password. But surely there must be an easier way just
to change this? It was odd that the new connection wrote a pine.pwd
file as expected whereas it was absent earlier.
