'ssl/novalidate-cert' NOT working in 4.33

I was using pine 4.21 (rpm). Since I wanted SSL support, I downloaded and built
openssl 9.6 and pine 4.33 with ssl support. Now I can access my IMAP with ssl
using pine 4.21, no problem.
But when I try with pine4.33, I get
'self signed certificate...can't establish ssl connection to....993'
What is going on here?
How do I make it work in 4.33?

You quoted the answer in your message. Add the /novalidate-cert flag:
