[Message 222 UID 2921 less than 2927]
I don't see this in the FAQ, what is this about?
The message doesn't last long and isn't a fatal error.
Mark
This message came up because the 222nd message of the mailbox has a
"unique identifier" (UID) number of 2921, but the 221st message had a UID
of 2926. Since UIDs must be strictly ascending in the mailbox, the 222nd
message must have a UID of at least 2927.
Usually, this happens when some program other than Pine was used to modify
the mailbox.
Pine reacts by reassigning a new set of UIDs to all messages. This
reassignment is saved to the file the next time that Pine rewrites the
mailbox.
It is not a fatal condition, but if you were using software that depended
upon UIDs (e.g. a disconnected IMAP client) then all of that UID data is
invalidated and everything remembered about the mailbox has to be
refetched.
