alpine spawned by xterm hangs on suspension

Hi
I'm trying to start a pine session from an xterm, as in
xterm -e "/usr/bin/alpine ; tcsh " &
I also have enable-suspend on as a feature.
Trouble is that if I suspend from pine after spawning it in this way,
my xterm hangs. does anybody know a way around this?

Try "xterm -e /usr/bin/alpine &" and enable the "Use Subshell for
Suspend" feature also.
