I'm having trouble setting up Pine to access this and I'm
wondering if it is even possible. My question: Is it possible to
use Pine to access an LDAP server that requires a user name and
password?
If not, is there a patch that would make this possible?
Thank you,
Nancy

There is a patch. Take a look at this patch for 4.58

take a look at

for configuration instructions. The patch has been published in the
pine-info list in several ocassions. If you have access old messages from
this list, take a look at the message from

I do have an unpublished patch, which would allow you to use direct
authentication or your password file, if you want to try it contact me off
this newsgroup.

Thank you for all this good LDAP information Eduardo!
It would be very useful if the Pine Team would add this to the
next release of Pine. It is very nice to be able to share my
address book between Pine, SeaMonkey Suite, and Horde/IMP (my 3
main IMAP clients).
Thanks!
