Subject: Suddenly Unable To Send Mail To Local Users
I am running Pegasus 3.12c on a NetWare 5.0 SP4 server connected to 250
workstations. The following problem occurs on about 15 workstations thoughout
our network. It occurs in Windows 95 and Windows 98 PCs running Novell Client
3.1 SP2 and 3.21 (running IPX & TCP/IP).

We are suddenly unable to send local e-mail using users'  local names. For
example, we used to be able to send a message to "USER" and now I have to send
it to "USER.OU" The error message we receive is "USER is not a valid address
please correct it and hit Send Again." The same user can log on to a different
workstation and have local e-mail addresses work like a charm.

These same workstations are using SMTP for delivery as opposed to using our
local server to send mail.

I do not encounter this problem if I run Pegasus 3.12b (16-bit) on workstations
that are having trouble.

Any help will be appreciated.

Derek

In article <20000627184526.02069.00000...@ng-cg1.aol.com>, djlus...@aol.com

I too have encountered this problem although we are using Pegasus 3.01d on a
Netware 4.11 network with Windows NT4 workstations.  Another difference is
that we are using the local server to send mail.  When the fault occurs the
user is thrown out of Pegasus.  Starting Pegasus again rectifies the fault.

So far I've only encountered the error with one pc only.

Any ideas anyone?
