Hello all,

I config my mutt as my MUA with my gmail. I use the offline imap
approach to download email, and now everything seems okay. But how can
I receives my mailing list in google groups.

I simply add
lists comp.lang.c
subscribe comp.lang.c
into my .muttrc, but it doesn't work. I don't receive any email here.

The offlineimap program will check new emails periodically, but I
don't make some modification in .offlinemaprc, so why simply add the
'lists' and 'subscribe' entry in the .muttrc will build up the mailing
list as the general says?

Thanks

With lists and subscribe command in mutt you only tell mutt that emails
which you have recieved from those email addresses are mailing lists.
Mutt won't register you to those mailing lists.

And comp.lang.c I only know as a news group, not mailing list. So mutt
isn't the right tool in the first place.

Perhaps his IMAP server acts as a Usenet gateway -- I've heard of such
setups. But IIRC[1] the mailing list support in Mutt assumes mail from
those lists follow certain conventions -- which header field contains
the list's address and which contains the actual sender's address and
so on. The chances may be slim that his Usenet gateway does this right.

[1] It's surely in the Mutt documentation. I haven't been on any
real mailing lists for many years so I have forgotten the details.
