sort bug?

Hi,

I'm witnessing a weird behaviour of the sort function on (at least) one
of my mailboxes:
the sort 'from' does not appear to be working. For one author with
exactly the same
from field in the emails I have received, the emails from this author
are split in several
groups, with messages from other authors inbetween.

I have tried a search on this newsgroup and found nothing relevent. Is
this a bug, or do I
miscomprehend the way sort is supposed to work?
I use mutt 1.5.9. Running mutt 1.4.2.1 on the same machine on the same
mailbox gives a different
and apparently correct behavior.

Please don't help people that post through google. It's for
reading, not posting. The replies aren't formatted correctly and
most of them are from would-be spammers that are hiding their
tracks. If they can run Mutt, they can use a newsreader.
