Can mutt 'scroll its dir/list while off-line'?

Perhaps I haven't got it setup suitably.
My on-line time is expensive, so I need to retain the
listing-of-mails-at-the-ISP for days.

AFAICS they only show and can be scrolled while mutt is on line.
Which is disasterous crap.

Can you d/l the <mail-dir> and fetch 3 random mails, and
delete 4 random mails, the next time you go on line, from
the previously fetched <mail-dir> ?

Mutt can't. Have a look on offlineimap.

That's such a specific action you want that you have manage that on your
own (at least by writing scripts).
