Blank lines in header

After every non-x header containing an email address, mutt is inserting
a blank line, which screws up the context coloring since it thinks the
first blank line is the body delimiter. The blanks are preserved when
I forward a message but not when I open a message to edit (in vim.)
Anyone have an idea what's going on?

TIA

The blanks show up in all received messages, and they are only after
certain headers that contain email addresses. Return-Path, To, From,
Cc, Sender, and Reply-To are the ones I've seen so far.
