syntax coloring of ':' lines

I am subscribed to a couple of vim mailing lists and when someone shows a
command and it begins with ':' mutt shows it to me colored as if it is
quoted text.

Many times the only text from a responder is a command that will solve
the OP's problem, making it difficult for me to find anything in the
post not from the OP.

Ideally I could convince mutt that the only quoted text it will ever see
begins with '>' (or '>>' or '>>>'...).

I looked through my .muttrc and didn't see anything that looked like a
definition of what comprises quoted text.

Any help will be appreciated,
