Foxmail is stable, but there are things you need to know to
avoid trouble.
Use v4.1 NOT 4.2 as it is in English and so is the helpfile.
It will import your mail from OE with no trouble.
To transfer the addresses from OE, you will first have to
export them somewhere as a csv file then import. If you have
them on Outlook or some other clients it's easier.

I use Foxmail Launcher which I picked up here, but cannot
remember from whence. I think it was from a Foxmail French
site, but the 'poster' visits here often and will be along
shortly I expect. It opens the folders and takes you to the
Inbox. You could try Google for that.

I still cannot get it set to send Websites even after using a
mailto: patch from the same French site, but that is of no
great consequence.

The main attraction for me is the new/reply/forward templates,
which are editable.

Having said all that, and having tried ALL the clients, free
and otherwise, I am still torn between Foxmail and OE-with-
OEquotefix.

If you want to use 4.2 as is does have bug fixes 4.1 had then install
4.1 first and copy the FoxHelp.chm and FoxHot.chm to a temp directory,
then install 4.2 to the 4.1 dir, and once finished copy the 2 previous
saved files to this foxmail directory, delete the file Chinese.lg
(Chinese language file) and boom full english 4.1 texts with the
benefit of the 4.2 additions and fixes.

And there is full authentification when setting up e-mal accounts.

And as to Foxmail launcher, yes it is available at the French FoxMail
url.

These are the Foxmail urls I use often:
Foxmail English site:
http://fox.foxmail.com.cn/english.htm

Foxmail How it Install:
http://www.allanc.dk/foxmail/install.html

Foxmail English version:
http://uchzeichen.de/fpo/fm4en.html

Foxmail Forum Vulpinum
http://www.forumromanum.de/member/forum/forum.cgi?USER=user_178221

Foxmail French support site (Best foxmail info around)
http://foxmail.free.fr/www/home.php

And according to the French Foxmail site Foxmail 5 should be out soon,
chinese then english to follow!

OK, but what about retaining English words on the macros of the
templates?

YES - Simple answer

Account Property

--> SMTP server need AUTHENICATION (Check Box)
--> Setup (Button becomes Active)

Set if up in there.

Any other help please ask.

I just checked my templates folders and they contain both very weird
character titles and english titles, if need be I can upload the
english ones to the binary group of alt.com.freeware called
alt.binaries.freeware.

OK you convinced me the english templates are in alt.binaries.freeware

:)

Your welcome

Thanks anyhoo, but I just discovered that most of the important
gif's are in a folder called 'images'. Copy them to the 'macrs'
folder and Tada!
All I want are there except 'Current time' and I just edited
that with PSP.
Now to go see your templates :o)
