After not getting any penny stock (pink-sheet) spam for what must be at
least a year or two, all of a sudden I'm seeing several a day on one
particular account at $dayjob, starting over the weekend.
Some new bot-net is up and running?
Anyone else seeing this?

Here's what I've been getting - in reverse order (most recent first).
They've been pumping GGSM (GOLD & GEM STONE MINING INC) quite strongly
all this past week - which is strange because if I remember correctly,
they typically only send one or two pump-spams for the same symbol
because the effect only lasts for a day or two. Kinda strange to be
pumping the same stock for 5 days.
I put a short note with most entry to indicate what the stock price and
trading volume was doing each day.
Takehome message: There always seems to be a conspicuous spike in
trading volume for these stocks, and some movement in price. Whether or
not this is because of day-traders that pile-in and try to take
advantage or capitalize (in their minds) on the prospect of movement
caused by these spams, it's hard to say.
