Afternoon,

I use mutt(1) connected to an IMAP message store. Mutt(1) gives me the
ability to edit raw messages. I would like to create a 'journal folder
in the IMAP store for recording events of each day. Currently I must
email myself a message and place that message in the journal folder.

What I would like to do is a key that I can create a message directly
in the store without mailing myself that message.

Is there a way to create a message directly in the IMAP message store? I
know the 'm' key creates a message for mailing and I know the 'e' key
edits an existing message in the IMAP store. I want to create a message
without mailing.

Yes, IMAP includes the ability for the IMAP client to upload a message to an
IMAP server's mailbox. However, your question appears to be about how to use
your mail client to accomplish this task, rather than anything IMAP-specific.

I believe that there's a comp.mail.mutt newsgroup, where you're more likely
to find the right answer.

Sam,

Yes, I posted to the wrong group. The IMAP group is next to the mutt group
in my news reader. I thought I was finished with "one off" errors. :)
