Would your SMTP server accept -> ehlo MAPI1.0 ???
|
| |
Recently I've been trying to figure out why a Trendnet TV-IP110w
IP-camera was not able to connect to my SMTP server to send mail.
I performed some packet analysis and found that the camera was greeting
the server with this:
ehlo MAPI1.0
And my server responds with this:

Are SRV (Service) records normally consulted during mail delivery?
|
| |
...After noticing that the registrar that hosts my domains (network solutions) allows me to set SRV records - including SMTP, I thought that I might be able to outsmart spam zombies by setting my SRV-SMTP record to indicate that my server accepts mail on some port other than 25. Naturally, such a change would only be workable if all legit servers... more »

headers aren't sufficient for delivery?
|
| |
I always thought email headers contained all the information necessary to get an email to delivered. But in RFC 2822 "Internet Message Format" section 3.6.3 "Destination address fields", it states: "There are three ways in which the "Bcc:" field is used. In the first case, when a message containing a "Bcc:" field is prepared to be sent,... more »
