Several seconds to close...

Hi and tnx for reading my message. For a few weeks now, I noticed that when I close Eudora (v.7.1.0.9 under Windows XP SP3), it taka more than 10 seconds to definitly close... something it never happens before even when using very old computers... Any ideas, suggestions to improve that ? tnx in advance... more »

works just fine with these 2 tweaks: 1. if monitor is connected via VGA cable (analog): for crisp fonts - change system font "effects" from "Clear Type" to "Standard" 2. for common controls & registry compatibility: eudora shortcut -> properties -> compatibility -> Windows XP (SP3)

Messages Not Downloading from Server in 5.1

Hi, all. Starting this evening, my new mail messages don't seem to be downloading from the Earthlink server. I received mail normally today, but there are new messages in webmail, but they are not coming through in Eudora 5.1. The task icon just keeps spinning but nothing comes. Recreating Eudora environment after hard disk crash?

I've been a Eudora user (paid mode) for years. Last week, my hard disk crashed. Ontrack was able to get my files off the disk, so that's a start. In particular, I've got copies of my entire Eudora directory, including all my mailboxes. I even have a saved copy of my original Eudora 7.1.0.9 download.... more »

I've been getting emails (some in HTML, others in plain text) and listserv digests, and reading them in Eudora 7.0. In the past several months, and more and more it seems, I'm seeing things like this: "that doesn't mean they’re misleading." which, of course, ought to display as this: "that doesn't mean they're misleading."... more »

Migrating to Application Data folder from Program Files

I found one ancient thread on this topic, mostly about the [dis]advantages of doing it one way or the other. I still have a legacy install with data in Program Files. Is there a relatively easy / painless way to migrate to using Application Data folders? tia... Bob

Hello, I use Eudora 7.1 and very often when I write I get a problem. For example if I write "I lookfor" I have made an error beacuse there isn't any space, therefore I have to put a space between 2look" and "for"but when I do it I get a problem. I cannot put a space because the words on the right are deleted. I have to click "Ins" key on... more »

(v 7.1.0.9, light mode, running since forever.) Eudora went a little rogue on me today, and wouldn't let me open any of its folders. I cleared this by re-setting to 'free' mode. (I think it had switched to 'sponsored'.) I didn't make any other changes. Things seem OK, except it's using a very old address book.... more »

It's finally happened -- someone has sent me a long, anonymous letter in the mail (snail mail!) with detailed orders for me to follow! Should I notify the authorities?
